Newsletter Vol 19: Summer 2013

Life’s a Stitch!

Summertime, and the knitting is breezy!  Thank you so much to all who came out and supported us in our second annual Knit in the Park for World Wide Knit in Public Week – we had so much fun!

We’re trying something new with our newsletter this time!  We can send our class listings and news to all of you much faster by email, so that our news isn’t old news by the time it hits your mailbox.  Love it?  Hate it?  Let us know!  And in the meantime, please make sure your email address is up-to-date in our system so we can keep in touch.  We’ll always have some printed copies of our class listing in the shop for your convenience.

We know summer is a busy time for everyone, so we’ve kept our classes simple, with small, portable projects – no heavy sweaters sitting on your lap while you’re at the beach!  Summer is a great time to pick up a new skill – our teachers are offering some great technique classes, including crescent shawl design, entrelac in a cotton self-striping yarn, chart reading and a “choose your own adventure” class for socks!

There are a number of creative felting classes to choose from – no homework necessary, come and play with wool in the comfort of our air-conditioning!  And if you want to spend the summer learning to spin, our spinning teachers are happy to make arrangements by appointment to get you started.

Our shelves are overflowing with cool summer yarns along with a riot of color from your favorite lines – Dream in Color, Malabrigo, Shalimar and more, so stop in and see what’s new!

As always, feel free to come in for help, a nice chat, or just to sit and knit for a bit.

Happy Knitting!

Karen, Linda, Sarah & Van
