Thanks to all who participated in our Knit in the Park event 2013!

Update:

Capping off our week long celebration of Knit In Public Day which included a sale on non-animal fiber yarns for Hugs For Heads projects, our Knit in the Park day turned out to be the perfect blend of beautiful weather, old and new friends sharing the fun of knitting together outside in the fabulous gazebo at Edmund-Lyon Park, music from the East Rochester Italian Festival in the background and delightful treats from the festival’s food vendors. Much joy was had by all and many small hats were collected for donation to the Golisano Children’s Hospital!

Save the date for Knit in Public Day 2014 (Saturday June 14)!

World Wide Knit in Public Week starts SATURDAY! Details about all our fun festivities for the week are available at the shop, but we wanted to be sure to get the word out about our Knit in the Park event on Sunday, June 9th. We'll be at Edmund Lyon Park in East Rochester from 1-5. Bring your lawn chair, a bottle of water, some sunscreen and your project - knit, crochet, spin or weave, all fiber arts are welcome! We'll have some snacks, but feel free to bring something to share.

We had so much fun last year, and can't wait to gather again this year! We'll keep our fingers crossed that it will be as beautiful as the forecast says, but our emergency rain plan is to meet at the shop.

Details can be found here: The Village Yarn & Fiber Shop WWKIP Knit in the Park

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Knit in the Park event! We're still holding it in Edmund Lyon Park, but will have to work around the Italian Festival a bit. Parking may be tricky - there should be some parking available on the surrounding side streets, or there are shuttle buses running from several different locations for the festival (see: Italian Festival Parking Information for details)

We'll be meeting near the gazebo that's near the Southwest corner of the park, near the intersection of Main St. and East Ivy St. Bonus: there will be vendors nearby selling delicious treats!

Hope to see you there!
