What a gorgeous early spring we’ve had! Sunny, breezy, and unpredictable – a great time of year to break out those lightweight shawls and fingerless mitts!
The weather is definitely warming up, but fear not – knitting and spinning isn’t just about heavy wool sitting in your lap. Try your hand at a delicate drop-stitch scarf, discover a new technique like twined or mosaic knitting, knit a pair of socks, or learn to spin silk or cotton. If you want to learn how to work with all the beautiful roving in the wool room, you could take a class to spin the yarn for and knit a cowl. Or you could learn to weave with roving, or make felted sachets or finger puppets.
And don’t forget dyeing! Our Hand Painted Sock Yarn workshop is so much fun. The best part? You leave with two lovely skeins of yarn…and no mess to clean up in your kitchen!
We’ve recently added Schacht and Kromski wheels and accessories to our spinning room. Along with Ashford and Louet, there are so many choices; you’re bound to find your perfect wheel. If you’re thinking of buying a wheel but don’t know where to start, we have a class for that, too.
Finally, be sure to stop in and see all of the lovely, cool new yarns we’ve been unpacking. So many colors, fibers and textures to choose from!
As always, feel free to come in for help, a nice chat, or just to sit and knit for a bit.
Happy Knitting!
